Setting up PayPal

In order to accept online payments from your customers, you will need a PayPal business accounts.  Click here to create a new PayPal account.  In order to authorise the API operations that are required for payment integration, you will need to retrieve your PayPal account's API credentials and configure DUAL Softswitch with these details.

 

Obtaining API credentials

 

An API signature consists of:

 

An API username
An API password
an API signature

 

You must have a PayPal Business account to retrieve these details.  To create an API signature:

 

1. Log into PayPal, then click Profile under My Account.
2. Click API Access.
3. Click Request API Credentials.
4. Check Request API signature and click Agree and Submit.
5. Click Done to complete the process.

 

Also, you should ensure that your PayPal account maintains a balance in the same currency as your DUAL Softswitch installation.  This may either be a primary or secondary account balance.

 

Configuring DUAL Softswitch with your API signature

 

The details you retrieved from PayPal in the previous step must be configured in your DUAL Softswitch account.  You can reach the PayPal configuration page by clicking the PayPal settings link in the Payments box on the left sidebar of the DUAL Softswitch Administration System.  The form on that page requires the following entries to be made:

 

Enable PayPal

Click this button to enable your customers to make online payments through the CDR Control Panel.  If you prefer, you can leave this box unchecked and start the PayPal integration at a later date.

API Username

Enter the API Username that you retrieved from PayPal in the previous step.

API Password

Enter the API Password that you retrieved from PayPal in the previous step.

API Signature

Enter the Signature that you retrieved from PayPal in the previous step.

Default availability

Use these buttons to select the online payment options for new accounts that you create.  See Transaction types for more information on deferred payments.

Decline emails?

Click this box if you would like your customers to receive an automatic email if you decline a deferred payment.
