When your DUAL Softswitch installation was created, you will have been sent the following information by our support team:

Your Provider Name
Your password
The IP address of your DUAL Softswitch installation

You should log into your web based Administration System at http://my.dualsoftswitch.com/ using your Provider Name and your password.

Your new switch is driven by a number of default settings that you can change:

Your calling account

One account has been set up.  The account number is 100001.  This account has special administrative features and should be used by the system administrator only.  To find out the account's password, click on the Active accounts link on the left sidebar within the Accounts box.  You will see one account listed.  You can directly select a carrier for testing using this account, although you may need to reconfigure your VoIP device to enable this feature.

The password is shown in the fourth column.  You should use the account number 100001 and the password to configure your VoIP device to your VoIP switch, using the switch's IP address as the SIP proxy address.

You will need to set up a new account for each of your customers.

Dial codes

Dial codes are an important part of DUAL Softswitch's rating process.  Each dial code entry holds three fields:

1. The dial code string
2. The country name
3. The city or breakout name

The dial codes installed on your switch are the dial codes currently used in our 44Mobile VoIP termination service.  They were accurate when your switch was created, but it is your responsibility to maintain an accurate set of dial codes.

Tariffs

Tariffs determine the per minute rate that callers will be charged.  You can define as many tariffs as you need, but one tariff has been provided and attached to account 100001.  The tariff is called "Sample tariff" and is based on our own 44Mobile termination rates plus 25%.

Carriers

Carriers are routes to which calls are sent.  They are usually the VoIP carriers that you have in place.  One carrier has been defined on your switch.  It is called "44Mobile" and has the correct settings for the VoIP termination service offered by our company.  You can create as many carriers as you need.

If you sent us details of your VoIP providers when we set up your DUAL Softswitch account, we will also set these up on your switch and included them in Least Cost Routing.

Routing

If you sent us information about your carriers when your DUAL Softswitch account was set up, then those carriers will be included in the Least Cost Routing system.  All calls from all accounts will be sent to the first carrier defined.  If those calls, the next carrier will be attempted.  This process will repeat until there are no Least Cost Routing carriers remaining.

You can refine this process by uploading rates for up to ten carriers.  These are automatically used to build DUAL Softswitch's Least Cost Routing tables.  Least cost routing defines the default rules for handling your calls.  Calls will be sent to the cheapest carrier in the list.  If that carrier fails a call, then Alternative Routing causes that call to be sent to the second cheapest carrier in real time.  This process continues until there are no further candidate carriers or a carrier accepts a call.

Least Cost Routing may not be the most appropriate strategy for your VoIP business.  Its use is optional.  It can be overridden at both the account and tariff level.
