This section is intended as a quick introduction to the operation and administration of DUAL Softswitch.  Please refer to the remaining chapters of this user guide for more detailed information.

DUAL Softswitch is controlled using the web based Administration System at http://my.dualsoftswitch.com/. You can log on to this page using the Provider Name and password that were sent to you when your account was set up.  This site can be customised to a certain extent using your own domain name and images.

The switching engine is controlled using an web based administration tool that is used to define customer accounts; define customer tariffs; control routing and report on calls and profitability.  In the left sidebar, there is a box called Licence.  If your softswitch has been activated, the following information is displayed in this box:

1. The dedicated IP address of your VoIP switch
2. The date that your softswitch will expire
3. The maximum number of calls supported by your switch
4. The maximum number of RTP Proxy calls supported by your switch

The home page of the Administration System at http://my.dualsoftswitch.com/ includes a Quick Summary section, which provides a live view of the operation of the softswitch and includes four boxes:

1. Calls now - This section shows a selection of the calls currently in progress through DUAL Softswitch and updates automatically.  A full list can be seen by clicking on the List link.
2. Recent calls - This regularly updated list shows the most recent calls the have been switched and whether or not they were answered.  Full lists of calls for the last twenty-four hours can be see by clicking on the Answered and Unanswered links.
3. Accounts - The Accounts box lists the most recently created accounts.  The box at the bottom of the section can be used to navigate directly to an account and edit its settings; record a payment or view its call records.
4. Carriers - This box lists the most recently created accounts and the drop down list at the bottom of the box navigates to a page where carrier settings can be changed and carriers can be introduced into Least Cost Routing.

Navigation through the Administration System is through links on the left sidebar of each page.  The boxes are grouped into their broad functions.  The bottom box shows the peak traffic that your switch handled today and yesterday and can be useful for determining the size of switch that you require.
