Dial codes are an important part of DUAL Softswitch's rating process and are used in conjunction with tariffs. Each dial code entry holds a minimum of four fields:
| 1. | The dial code string in E.164 format (country + number) |
| 2. | The country name |
| 3. | The city or breakout name |
| 4. | The length of the country code (optional) |
For example:

You can view the current dial codes by clicking on the Dial codes link on the left sidebar within the Routing box. From this page, the current dial codes can be downloaded in Microsoft Excel format. In addition to the four fields listed above, two further fields are available:
| 1. | The minimum number length |
| 2. | The maximum number length |
These number lengths do not include the country code. If these entries are used, and a call's destination number does not fit within these lengths, that call will fail.
The downloaded file can be used as a template for uploading dial code changes. New dial codes can be uploaded to be brought into effect at a chosen date in the future. Instructions for uploading these files are available on the Dial Codes page. Analysis of a new set of Dial Codes can take several minutes, but you will be shown the real time progress of this analysis while it takes place.
