Print this Topic Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

You view a list of defined carriers by clicking on the Carriers link in the Routing box on the left sidebar of the DUAL Softswitch Administration System.  At the bottom of the page, there is a form for defining a new carrier.  It has the following fields:

Name

Enter a descriptive name for the carrier.

Protocol

Select the signalling protocol (SIP or H.323) to be used when sending calls to the carrier.

Address

Enter the address of the carrier's server.  For SIP carriers, this would be

their Proxy server or SIP Registrar server, and this may be a domain name or an IP address.  For H.323 carriers, it should be the IP address of their gateway or

gatekeeper.

When you press the Continue button, the new carrier will be created immediately, and a Route Number will be allocated and displayed at the top of the page.  This page can be used to change the properties of the carrier, which as its SIP user name and password.  These settings are described in the section "Changing carrier settings".
