Call rating is the process by which customers' call charges are calculated. Some aspect of this process, such as the rating steps, are controlled at the customer account level. This section describes the global parameters that contribute to the rating of calls.
The two main components to the call rating system are Dial Codes and Tariffs. Both components must be correctly defined for calls to be switched and rated. The Dial Codes define the correlation between the numbers dialled by subscribers and the countries (and optionally the cities) being called. Tariffs define per minute rates that callers will be charged and are defined on a per country (and optionally, per city) basis.
